Coffee Stop

Destiny Angels Coffee Stop provides a safe and welcoming place for women to connect with each other and one to one support, receive food support, grow safe relationships and be empowered to gain new confidence and life skills. The Coffee Stop is for women who have faced difficult life circumstances and as a result suffer from isolation and financial difficulties.

“It helps me meet new people and get out of my flat for a while.”

“Without [the Coffee Stop] I will not have good meals for my son.”

We launched the Coffee Stop in September 2013 in response to the growing need for food support amongst families but also for a safe place for women to connect with other women.

The Coffee Stop therefore aims to give food support for women and children at risk; to provide them with a secure environment to collect food, but also to connect, grow safe relationships and be empowered to gain new confidence and skills through craft activities, information sessions and volunteer support.

Each woman attending the service is referred to us by one of our partner agencies in the city.

Since the start of the Coffee Stop we have been encouraged by the growth in attendance but also in the increased confidence each woman displays and the healthy friendships that are being formed.

Coffee Stop currently runs every Wednesday 1-3pm at our Gorgie location and North location and every Thursday 1-3pm at our Leith location.
