Christmas Hamper Appeal

Our Hamper Appeal has now finished. Check back later in the year for information about our 2019 Christmas appeal

For many, Christmas can be a very isolating and challenging time of year. Each year, Destiny Angels partner with organisations across Edinburgh to give out hampers of food and gifts to people in need—to show that people care and to help make Christmas possible. And YOU can be involved!

How to help:

Donate a hamper

Make up your own hamper, either individually or with friends, colleagues or your Small Group. This is the most cost and time-effective way for us to reach our hamper target—and it’s loads of fun! Please click the link below so that we can allocate you a specific hamper to make up (e.g. age, gender, size of family, referral organisation etc).

Deadline for hampers to be returned: TBC for 2019

Give

Although we receive many donated hampers from individuals for us to pass on to our partner organisations, there is still a huge need across our city. Each year we make up additional hampers at Hamper HQ to help support as many vulnerable individuals and families as we can. To do this, we need donations of food and gifts, as well as financial contributions to cover the cost of our hamper shopping. Click the link below to donate online or email [email protected]to find out more about financial giving.

Buy a Gift Card

Why not give a loved one a gift with real impact this Christmas by buying them a hamper gift card? Costing £20, proceeds from the card help us to put together another hamper for a vulnerable person.

Last day for online orders is: TBC for 2019

Volunteer

There are many opportunities to volunteer as part of our appeal. Whether it’s wrapping gifts, writing cards, making up boxes, collecting donations, organising promotion or using your administrative and logistical skills, we’d love to hear from you! It’s also a great opportunity for organisations and corporate groups to enjoy a team-building day with a difference. Click the link below or phone 0131 4542001 for more info.

Feedback from Edinburgh Organisations

We work with clients with significant mental health problems living in the community, many of whom are very socially isolated and struggle to leave their homes. Many have little to look forward to in life and no Christmas plans, with Christmas being a difficult time of year for them. All our clients have been extremely grateful for the hampers. One stated that it had made their Christmas. Another said they would have had nothing to eat over the Christmas period without the hamper.

The hampers you provide make a huge difference to the individuals we work with. It is often the case that this will be one of the few gifts that they will receive, bringing some much needed kindness, generosity and a reminder that there are still many good people in the world.

We as an organisation are extremely grateful for the hard work and dedication that must go into the enormous undertaking. You have our gratitude and admiration.

We’ve hit the headlines! Find out more here
